This month, EB-LINK has made a centralized update to the optical module coding compatible code library, focusing on supplementing the code templates corresponding to the new models launched in recent years by Cisco, Huawei, H3C, and Ruijie, and simultaneously refreshing the verification field rules of some existing models.
Why does the code library have to follow the machine model?
Switch manufacturers will adjust the identification strategy in the new firmware, such as adding reserved area verification and modifying the reading method of the power threshold. If the old code template is used to write the new model, the log alarms will be constant at best, and the port will not be recognized at all. Incorporating new templates into the code library means that customers don't have to go through trial and error with their own projects.
The source of this update includes a review of customer return data and the compilation of public compatibility lists of mainstream brands. Each set of new templates is officially activated after completing the plug-in verification on the actual machine of the same model.
The update resolves three typical types of issues
- There is now a corresponding processing template for the persistent alarm of unregistered serial numbers on newly launched campus switches;
- Some models do not display the transmitting and receiving light readings after upgrade, and need to adapt to the new diagnostic field layout;
- Rewrite rules when the same module is reused across brands. If an old module is replaced with a new environment, the code pattern can be rewritten before being put on the shelves.
How customers can use this update
When enquiring, provide the brand, specific model and firmware version of the switch, and technical support can match the template in the code library; old modules that have been put on the shelves in the expansion project can also be sent back to be rewritten with new code for reuse. Commonly used 10G uplinkSFP+ 10G single-mode dual-fiber 10km optical moduleand Gigabit optical port modules are covered by this new template.
The code library will be continuously updated as new models become more popular. If you need to confirm the compatible coding solution, you can call 0755-83179002 and report the model to get the matching results and test samples.
