Recently, EB-LINK has opened a support channel for existing link inspection and expansion evaluation: optical power, OTDR curves and fiber core occupancy are collected on-site according to templates, and technical support is provided to remotely complete margin review and staging recommendations to respond to common problems in transformation projects - whether the family can afford the next step.

Three things are being evaluated

The evaluation revolves around three parts: link layer margin, resource layer core, and equipment layer port: the link layer is recalculated piece by piece based on the planned increase rate and distance; the resource layer checks whether the spare core is available; and the equipment layer looks at the patch panel port and transceiver rack slot margin. Three things together determine which path to take for capacity expansion: changing modules, changing pairings, or supplementing links. If one of the three layers of data is missing, the conclusion can only provide direction but not gear.

What needs to be provided on site

  • Actual measured length of each section or optical cable routing diagram
  • Module models in use, wavelength and receiving end power readings
  • Splice box end record or OTDR curve file
  • Expansion target rate and available cutover window

What to output and what not to promise

The output is a section-by-section margin table, a list of available fiber cores and phased transformation suggestions. The configuration quotation is given along with the list; for long-distance sections, it is recommended to check the gear according to the current network speed, for exampleSFP 2.5G single mode dual fiber 80KM optical moduleCan 3 dB be retained? Items that require on-site confirmation, such as moisture in junction boxes and traces of rodent damage, will be marked in the conclusion as pending and will not be judged over the phone. All suggestions are delivered in a written list, and customers can arrange their own arrangements in stages. Since the opening of the channel, inquiries have focused on wind farm stations, tunnels and park trunks. Please refer toCommunication transformation plan for electric power and new energy stations.
