In early July, EB-LINK completed the batch shipment of a batch of gigabit single-fiber transceivers to a manufacturing park to support the upgrade of point backhaul from dual-fiber to single-fiber: the backbone fiber core occupancy was reduced by half, and the freed cores were reserved for subsequent point expansion.
The reason for the transformation was insufficient number of cores.
The shafts in the park are shared resources. After the early rounds of access, only two cores of some twelve-core optical cables were left free. There was a production shutdown window for re-cabling, and the owner chose to change the pairing method: each link changed from two cores to one core, and replaced it with a Gigabit single-fiber transceiver.Gigabit single mode single fiber one optical one electrical fiber optic transceiver, the risk is concentrated in pairing management - the wavelengths at both ends are different, and the installation direction cannot be reversed. Before the transformation, the power budget was checked section by section. The farthest point was about six kilometers. Only one section with a long winding was postponed and left to the second phase.
Paired and labeled, shipped with goods
- Each pair is pre-assembled into pairs according to the A and B ends. The outer box is marked with the direction and delivered in the same bag.
- The lower section of single-core lead is equipped with anti-rodent armored jumperSingle-mode single-core armored jumpers, anti-mouse jumper pigtails, special jumpers for Internet cafes, special jumpers for cabinets
- They are shipped after testing one by one, and the test record number is printed on the label.
The equipment arrives in three batches according to the cutover plan. One batch is cut and the optical power reading is reviewed before the next batch is sent to avoid mixing old and new pairs in the same shaft and avoiding mis-shipment between batches.
What to do with the freed core?
The project synchronously counts the vacant fiber cores into terminals and incorporates them into the link ledger. It is planned to be used for warehouse expansion and aggregation link redundancy. EB-LINK has off-the-shelf models for both 100M and 1000M single-fiber grades. For paired configurations, please call 0755-83179002 to communicate the number and distance of points. For subsequent point expansion, the number of vacated cores can be directly used without the need for secondary surveys.
