Project background
The operator's metropolitan area network is evolving to 10G/25G. The channel optical modules have high quotations and long delivery times. After testing and comparison, they selected EB-LINK as the second supplier and gradually increased the volume.
Needs and Challenges
- There are multiple brands of switches on the current network, and they need to be coded one by one to be compatible;
- Arrival in batches and distributed according to office locations, with zero tolerance for labeling and packaging errors;
- The high temperature and high humidity climate places strict requirements on device aging testing.
Implementation points
The SFP+ 10G single-mode dual-fiber 10km/40km/80km series are pre-coded according to the site list and port information is affixed; OM3 multi-mode patch cords are supplied with the batch and are uniformly matched with LC fully equipped ODF; before leaving the factory, each unit has completed a full inspection of high and low temperature cycles and received and received optical power, and a batch test report is provided.
Deliverables
- A total of 12,000+ optical modules have been delivered, and the batch DOA rate is less than 0.1%;
- Writing code is compatible with 3 brands of equipment on the current network, plug and play;
- The comprehensive procurement cost dropped by about 40% compared with the original channel, and the cooperation continues to this day.
