Project background
The copper cable serial port communication in the outdoor area of the station was damaged many times during thunderstorms and switch operations, and the telecontrol channel instantaneous interruption triggered the dispatch assessment.
Needs and Challenges
- The ground potential difference measured up to 11V, and the copper cable port was repeatedly broken down;
- The 8-door dispatch traffic needs to be transmitted on the same fiber as the data service;
- The jumpers in the old computer room were in a mess, and the wiring inspection took an average of more than 2 hours.
Implementation points
All 485/232 channels in the outdoor area are replaced with bidirectional data optical transceivers and three-in-one optical transceivers to achieve electrical isolation; 8-channel telephone + 1-channel network optical transceivers are used for dispatching traffic; a new 24-port 24-core FC single-mode fully equipped ODF is installed in the computer room, unified into terminals and named according to intervals; the 20km backbone between stations uses SFP Gigabit single-mode 20KM optical module ring.
Deliverables
- There was no port damage during the first thunderstorm season after the transformation;
- The telecontrol channel availability rate is 99.99%, passing the authority's acceptance;
- Line checking time is shortened to less than 10 minutes;
- Telephone, data, and video services share a common fiber, and the optical cable occupation is halved.
